Smite Paladin is an important character in Diablo 2 Resurrected. He is good at killing bosses and breeding super bosses for the Hellfire Torch.
Smiters use Smite and Fanaticism in combination to deal their high damage. Smite deals physical damage and requires no attack rating as it always hits and stuns normal monsters. A holy shield, a high block chance, and very high resistances ensure the necessary tanking ability.

The "Budget" Smiter achieves solid results with minimal equipment but requires certain stats to be successful in the fight against the over-bosses. These things include but are not limited to a life donor source for life support, cannot be frozen, X% chance of crushing blow for high boss damage, as well as a large number of resistances to Uber Mephisto's Conviction aura to counteract.
